Can you believe that 2015 is over? It seems like just yesterday I rang in the start of the year with some online shopping (I live a crazy life, obviously). For everyone who lives a more exciting life than me and is actually going out, I came up with a makeup look using only drug store products for you! It’s a classic smokey eye, perfect for going out. I figured I’d use drug store makeup because it’s easier and faster to get a hold of than high end stuff.
This is the quad I’ll be using for this look. It’s by Rimmel in the color 001 Smokey Noir.
For the sake of this tutorial, I numbered each of the colors. The bottom lightest grey is 1, the medium grey on the left is 2, the grey on the right is 3, and the top black is 4.
Step one is to prime your eyes to make sure your makeup stays on all night. E.L.F makes a good one that’s only $3.
Next, take color 1, the lightest grey, and put it all over your lid, all the way up to your brow bone.
Add color 2, the shimmery grey all over the lid, focusing on the inner half.
Take color 3, the darker grey and work it throughout the crease. Be sure to blend well to make sure there are no hard lines.
Taking the black color in the palette, add it to the outer corner. Make it as dark or as light as you please. Next, take the darker grey (color #3), and put it on the inner half of the lower lash line. Take the black color and put it on the outer half of the lower lash line, connecting the two in the middle. Blend the colors to make sure there are no harsh lines.
Add liner of your choice. I opted to line my water line with a pencil liner and then line my lash line with a liquid liner, adding a wing to the end.
Finish off with mascara and voila!
Have a safe New Year’s Eve if you’re going out! And have a happy and healthy 2016!
