Dry Scalp Dilemma

It’s winter. Which means the air is dry, both outside in the freezing cold, and inside where our heaters are working overtime. Unfortunately, this can do a number on our scalps, drying them out and giving us those dreaded, embarrassing flakes. This winter, for some reason, my scalp was extra dry. I would find flakes along my scalp which were definitely noticeable next to my brown hair. I spent the last few weeks looking for solutions and reading up on what causes it. I’ve come up with a routine that’s helped me a lot, so I thought I would share for anyone experiencing a similar problem.

Make Up For Ever Artist 1 Palette (Nudes you Need) Review

Have you ever been walking through a store and you make eye contact with a product and you know that you have to have it, no questions asked. That was me and this palette. I was strolling through Sephora and I saw this and it was love at first sight. I went home from the mall and read about 100 reviews on this, and heard only good things, so I was sold. One week later, I walked into Sephora with a purpose and this beauty became mine.

Benefit Roller Lash Review

roller lash 2

I love mascara. I have about 6 open mascaras at the moment that I’m using and alternating between. I’m also very particular about my mascara. It needs to be volumizing and lengthening, but also long lasting and not smudge on my lower lash line. It’s needless to say I have high standards. I’ve yet to find one mascara that meets all my standards by itself, which is why I layer two together, one for thickening and one for lengthening.

Valentine’s Day Makeup

Valentine’s Day is this weekend, which means it’s time for chocolate covered strawberries and heart shaped candies (which is the important stuff, right?!). I put together a pink/purple toned eye look that is wearable for whatever plans you may have, whether it’s a date or just hanging out with your friends. Although it’s a little cliche, the palette I used was the Naked 3. I feel like everyone uses this for Valentine’s, but the colors in it are just so fitting for the occasion.

How to Get Out of a Fashion Rut

fashion rut

It happens to all of us at some point or another. It seems as if one day everything is fine, and we love our wardrobe, and the next, we have nothing to wear and we hate everything. It’s something that I find happens to me once or twice a year. I especially feel the pressure to always look trendy and fashionable given my major (fashion merchandising), but being a college kid, I don’t have enough money to be constantly cleaning out my closet and starting from scratch.

This puts me in a fashion rut.

Gray is the New Black

It is no doubt that one of the most well loved and timeless colors in fashion is black. It’s simple and sophisticated and goes with just about everything. However, this Spring/Summer, there is a new color that is dominating the trends; gray. The Pantone colors of the year are Rose Quartz (a soft, neutral¬†pink) and Serenity (a light blue). To complement these colors, as well as the other pastels and neutrals that will be seen everywhere this year, gray is taking over. Grays ranging from silver to stone to granite will be taking over the beloved spot of black this season and into the winter.
