Have you ever been walking through a store and you make eye contact with a product and you know that you have to have it, no questions asked. That was me and this palette. I was strolling through Sephora and I saw this and it was love at first sight. I went home from the mall and read about 100 reviews on this, and heard only good things, so I was sold. One week later, I walked into Sephora with a purpose and this beauty became mine.
This is a neutral colored palette, and the colors are advertised as having a neutral undertone, although they seem to lean a little on the cooler side to me (but they would totally work on all skin types). The formula is almost a hybrid of a powder and a cream. The texture is creamy, but works like a powder and finishes like one.
This palette does not have a lock closure, so it might not travel the best. Also, there are no matte finishes, everything has a satin/glittery finish to it. So if you like having mattes in your palette, this might not be your cup of tea. But I think that the finish of these isn’t so over-the-top that the mattes are greatly missed.
These palettes are designed so that when you go down from top to bottom, the colors make a look where all the colors complement each other. I swatched them from left to right, which is shown below.
I love this palette. I’m obsessed with it. I love the taupe colors that it has, as well as the bronzes and golds. For the price, ($44 at Sephora), I think this is a great deal. These are all artist quality products, and a regular pan from MakeUp ForEver costs $21 for a single pan. So by buying this palette, you’re getting a lot for your money. I love the consistency of these, and the finish is amazing.
If you’re looking for another addition to your makeup collection, definitely check this out. It’s probably one of my favorite palettes at the moment.
