I feel like I’ve been starting out every blog post this way for the past few weeks, but I’m sorry I’ve been so MIA lately. I’ve been swamped at work for the past few weeks because it’s been back to school time. And then I moved out to school, and classes started. So now I’m trying to juggle work, class, homework, working out, and this blog. So unfortunately some things have to get put on the back burner. I’m going to be better about updating here, though, I promise.
Anyways, time for favorites!
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer
After acquiring a bit of a tan this summer, I became way too dark for my beloved NARS concealer, however I didn’t want to spend $29 on a concealer that would be too dark for me in a few weeks time, so I went to Ulta to find a cheaper option. I heard a lot of people rave about the Maybelline concealer and say it was a dupe for the NARS one, so I decided to test it out for myself. I wouldn’t say it’s an exact dupe, but it is pretty close. It’s a creamy, non-drying formula. My biggest complaint is definitely the color options. They hop around a lot and don’t really go in any particular order. I ended up getting the color medium, even though it was too dark for me, because they didn’t have the color that I needed. I just mix this and my NARS one to get a good match, though, so no big deal. But if you’re looking for a good drugstore concealer, definitely check this one out.
NYX Lip Liner in Natural
This lipliner is super cheap, like only $3.50, but it works super well. This color is a dark browny-pink color that I’ve been absolutely loving lately. I layer this under pink lipsticks to give them a more natural color. This liner also helps my lipstick to stay on for hours, which is always a plus!
MAC Lipstick in Faux
I know this lipstick has been in my favorites before, but I’ve been loving it a lot this month. I love to layer this with the NYX lipliner mentioned above to give me my perfect nude. It’s not too pink or too brown, which I’ve been really loving. It’s also super comfortable for a matte formula and is super long lasting. This is probably my all time favorite MAC lipstick, so I definitely recommend checking this out if you love pinky nudes!
Garnier Micellar Water
I know I’m pretty late to the game on this, but I’ve actually had this for about a month and a half, I’ve just only gotten to really using it recently. I find this to be super helpful when I have smudged eyeliner or mascara under my eye, because I can put some of this on a Q tip and it wipes away really easily. Does it live up to all the praise it’s been getting? No, probably not. Don’t get me wrong, it’s an awesome product, but not the greatest makeup remover ever.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Eyeshadow
I only have 4 of these shadows, but I’ve been using them like crazy this month. I love the formula of them, and I love how easily they blend. They are so smooth and buttery, I can’t get over it. I’ve been eyeing a few more colors lately, and am just waiting for a sale to happen so I can save a little money, because at $12 a pan, these are not cheap! They are definitely worth the price, but I can’t justify it when I’m on a student’s budget.
What have you been loving this month?
