January 2017 Favorites

This is the first favorites of 2017! This post was kind of hard for me, because the last few days of the month I found myself using and loving the same products, but I didn’t use them long enough to warrant a mention in this favorites. They will definitely make an appearance next month, though! A few of the products (like the face mask) were a no-brainer for me, because I use them almost daily. Overall, I feel like this is a really good combination of products that I was obsessed with at the beginning and end of the month!

Mario Badescu Whitening Mask (x)
I mentioned this mask briefly in my Nighttime Skin Care Routine. What it is, is a mask that helps to fade discoloration and scarring. I use it every other or every 2 nights after I wash my face before bed. I leave it on for 7 minutes, and then wash it off. There is a weird film that gets left on your skin, so I have to wash my face again after, but it’s not a big deal. I can honestly see such a big difference since I started using this. Scars that would normally take months to fade are now fading within a few days of regular use of this mask. If you’re someone who has scarring on your face, try this out. You honestly won’t regret it.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil (x)
These lip liners are honestly the creamiest that I’ve tried. They don’t tug or drag along your lips, they apply smooth and glide (no pun intended) along your lips to create the perfect line. The color I have is Naked2, which is pretty similar to a NYX pencil that I have. But lately I’ve been reaching for this one more because of how easy it is to apply. The formula is also nondrying, and lasts a really long time on your lips. I’ve been so obsessed with mine lately that I’m planning on getting more in different colors!

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder (x)
I used to be ride or die for this powder, but stopped using it because I got the Laura Mercier loose powder. When I’m just spot covering with concealer, the Laura Mercier powder makes my concealer look a little cakey, especially around my eyes. The Rimmel powder is the perfect powder solution. It keeps my concealer from creasing, and doesn’t make my skin look crepe-y or cakey.

ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip in Midi (x)
I’m not gonna lie, I’m not the craziest about the formula of these. I think they are super drying on the lip, almost to the point where it’s uncomfortable. However, when applied with a gloss over it, it’s perfect. The thing I most love about this lippie is the color. Midi is the perfect subtly pink nude. If you’re very fair with pink undertones (like me) this color is borderline skin color. But not so much so that it looks like I have no lips. It’s like two shades pinker than me, so it looks good still. I think if you have darker skin, this would look absolutely amazing!

MAC Extra Dimesion Eye Shadow in Sweet Heat (x)
This was an impulse buy last time I was in MAC. I swatched the color and fell in love with the shade and the formula. Unfortunately, it was $20 for the shadow. I convinced myself I didn’t need it, and set out to find something similar in pan form. After swatching everything in sight, I realized there was nothing there as pretty, and impulsively grabbed it. I honestly do not regret it at all. It’s definitely on the pricey side for a shadow, but the color is gorgeous. It’s a light brown with the slightest tint of pink. The formula is so creamy, and applies really well. I normally use my finger to assure that I get the best color payoff possible. I’m so obsessed with this color that it has become my go-to lid color for any neutral eye look.

What products have you been loving this month?
